Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

The ‘we’ in Gandalf’s advice applies not only to those in Middle Earth, but also to us: the book of Ecclesiastes contains an important perspective on this: there is a time for everything, and Paul writes in Ephesians 5:16 to make best use of the time.

Have you decided what to use your time on, today?
