Angels

The five Ishtari were sent by the Valar to guide and aid the peoples of Middle Earth with their struggle against Sauron. These Maiar spirits – wizards – were given specific assignments and gave counsel to men, elves, dwarves and hobbits.

In the Bible, angels, too, are given specific assignments. But they are sent by, and answer to God alone. Through belief in the sacrifice of Jesus, we have direct access to the creator of all things, and can call God our Father: there is no longer a requirement to go through mediators if we believe He reconciled you with God.
