Love

In 1963, Tolkien writes in a letter to mrs. Elgar, that Frodo undertakes the quest to destroy the ring out of love: to save the world he knew from disaster, at his own expense, if he could.

In John 3:16, Jesus shares the words He heard from the Father: that God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son. Jesus still had to walk His path and fulfill His destiny, but He did so to the best of His ability, perfectly, until death.

This is the foundation for Jesus’ actions, and this begs a response from everyone that hears this. What is yours?
