Failure
Tolkien wrote: “We are finite creatures with absolute limitations upon the powers of our soul-body structure in either action or endurance. Moral failure can only be asserted, I think, when a man’s efforts or endurance falls short of his limits, and the blame decreases as that limit is closer approached.” Frodo’s job was to be a ring bearer, not a ring destroyer. He bore the ring towards its destination and did not fail in that.
Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength: He will provide a way out. When we fail and do sin, the way out is forgiveness: we acknowledge our failure to God, receive His forgiveness through Jesus, and try again. We live our lives in order to grow. That means we will fail from time to time, so keep that in mind.
Are you ready to ask God for help growing as a person, and for His forgiveness when you fail?
