Judging

Matthew 13:36-43

“Many that live deserve death; some that died deserved life. Can you give it them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death and judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends.” It is famous conversation between Gandalf and Frodo, in the mines of Moria.

Jesus touches on precisely this topic in Matthew 13, where he compares the kingdom of heaven with seed and weed: the servants of the sower were instructed not to separate the seed and weed, but wait until the harvest and leave the job of separating the two to the harvesters.

It’s easy to make unnecessary judgments, and for those judgments to come out through our words. So be ready to take it back.
