When confronted with evidence of Saruman’s involvement in the attacks on Rohan, Grima asks “Why do you lay these troubles on an already troubled mind. Can you not see, your uncle is wearied by your malcontent and warmongering?”, though in reality he is priming king Théoden even further, who has completely succumbed to Grima’s lies.

The Bible says to take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ. That does not mean we can try to ignore things, or hope they will pass. Instead we must reflect on even how we think.
