The way

When Frodo says he wished the ring had never come to him, Gandalf encourages him and replies that, though all who see such times wish for the same, the only decision Frodo has to make, is to decide what to do with the time that he is given.

In John 14:6, Jesus says He is the way, the truth and the life: there is no other way to the Father, except through Jesus. When we choose to follow Jesus, we face the same question daily, with the consequences of our answer to it.
